Hey
guys, how are you, hope you’re all having an awesome day and an even better one
reading. So, I know it's been a while since I've posted anything, and that's mainly due to the fact that I've migrated o the United States and it has been some of the most hectic few weeks since...forever! So, in light of the fact that I've migrated to the United States, and left my beloved book shelves with all my heart strung books behind, I decided to do
an extra-special blog post about the monstrosity that is my book shelf! =) I
must add that my book shelve isn't the most impressive you’ll see but I do hold
it dear to my heart and more so its contents. So let’s go!
ü Interesting
thing about my bookshelf no. 1: It’s actually made up of two separate
entertainment centers stacked unto each other. The top one was added with the
help of my super-hero mother when I moved into the room I was living in,
which was roughly around 3-4 months ago, the first one I had since forever, and
at that time it was described as a book pile by a friend of mine!
ü I
reorganize these shelves every 90 years or so and dust every 15 years! (So that
was a gross exaggeration, it’s actually every 4-5 years for reorganization and any
time I have the time I dust)
ü I
add at least 4 books a month to my shelves. I used to do this more frequently
when I was younger (especially when I was into the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew
mystery series, I loan most of them out and never got them back) but then young
adult life happened and the frequency of adding books decreased!
ü My
book shelves speak many languages! German, Spanish, French (evidenced by my
collection of dictionaries and Language learning materials.) These were during
my multi-lingual phase in high school, when if anyone talked to me they’d get
annoyed because I’d respond in a different language, airy toned like I knew it
all, when I actually only knew a few sentences!
ü I
have lots of classics!
ü The
oldest book on here is “The Children of Primrose Lane” (1969), given to me by a
teacher who was as obsessed with reading as I was, when I attended my first
high school. It’s a classic! Some of the pages are even falling out (which adds
to the authenticity) cuz it’s really old (actually printed in 1969!) N.B. I placed it in a glassed case chocolate box
to ‘preserve’ it! (Don't judge! ^_^)
ü I
have a tonne of Christian/ Religious literature! My family is a Christian
family and I was a religion junkie at one point!
ü I
have a plethora of children’s books! (Which I still read I might add :D ) I never damaged/threw away any of my books as
a child, so my brother inherited them, and they were many! And they bought even
more, and then my baby sister came along and more was added! I have around 18
years of children’s books on my book shelf!
ü I
have over 2 thousand books, on my book shelves!
But it doesn't look like it at first glance!
ü At the moment my book shelf is dusty! =)
So
that’s it guys, that’s 10 things you didn't know about my book shelf, and 10
things I’ll miss about it. I must add
that though I will be migrating I intend on starting another bookshelf while
I’m there, I’ll make sure to keep you guys up to date on what’s happening with
that (I should start posting more often). And to start my new
bookshelf in the U.S. I decided on taking with me three books that I’m yet to
read! I’ll blog about those in a separate post! So thank you guys for taking
the time out to actually read all of this (I know it’s a lot kudos to you!) And
I hope you have an awesome day and an even better one reading, bye! =)
